Cultural Tourism and Community Engagement: Insight from Montenegro

Abstract Background: Cultural tourism in Montenegro is growing, mostly due to the integral growth and development of products. However, an in-depth insight into relationship between cultural community engagement missing. Objectives: The paper aims examine Montenegro. Methods/Approach: Using extensive literature, available secondary data, analysis relevant policies, explores new possibilities for diversifying offer at heritage sites, by engaging volunteers, enhancing understanding socio-historical background, promoting usage digital tools, partnering with stakeholders, introducing innovative funding tools schemes. Results: Several management issues associated participation are acknowledged. Conclusions: Key findings indicate need a systemic, dynamic, framework sustainable highly impactful Montenegro, which policymakers, ventures, other stakeholders might use strengthen sites.
